Overview

IN THE HEART OF TE WAHI POUNAMU ....... where the Tasman Sea and its Fiordland Crested Penguins meets the ancient rainforest

On arrival we give you a copy of our current activities programme, maps and information. Forget your car for a couple of days and settle in and explore.

Radiating from the Lodge is a network of rainforest and Tasman seacoast walks. In front of the Lodge there is a fleet of canoes for you to explore the Moeraki river and you can paddle the short distance up the river to the Lake.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Wonderful place with amazing local rainforest environment. Strongly recommended but be sure to choose a time of year when beach flies are not about. They have a nasty sting

Review:   Incredible quality Eco Lodge set alongside a beautiful river. Caught a trout and had a local Moorepork ( new Zealand native) owl visit us most nights. Haven't seen one of those up close for well over 20 years!!. The bird life was astonishing! The rooms are very good, but internet is less than acceptable. They must upgrade and improve the web access.... Overall..highly recommended.
