About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   The Royal Lahaina is a great option for affordable yet great accommodations. The rooms all have great views of the ocean. The pool and hot tub accommodations could be a bit better, however they are close to the ocean and honestly that is one of the main reasons for coming to an island. The lounge and diner were nothing to write home about so pass on that and go to one of the hundreds of other restaurants. The hotel was clean and well maintained, although some of the decor could be updated. All said and done this is decent location for the price paid.

Review:   We stayed in 2016 for one week and again in 2017 and absolutely loved our experience. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the beach is to die for! We've stayed in an old cottage and a new cottage and enjoyed both. Any questions or issues or requests we ever had were immediately and kindly dealt with. I highly recommend this beautiful resort. The restaurant wasn't my favourite for lunch or dinner and the breakfast buffet (like most) is overpriced (though delicious) but everything else about the Royal Lahaina very much makes up for my lack of love for the restaurant.

Review:   Great place for a Hawaiian vacation. If you can get a cottage, bottom floor, garden view. Had one of these and it looked out on the ocean, feet from the beach, literally picture perfect. There is a nice pool bar, but it is only open from noon to sun down, in February at least. The staff is polite and the grounds are beautiful. Out cottage room was is decent shape, but obviously the appeal was the beach proximity. The restaurant on site is expensive and I wouldn't recommend it, though the entertainment is good and you can't beat the distance.

Review:   We stayed here for a week and found it lovely. The rooms were clean and we had no problems with the facility or the staff. Everyone was very friendly! There was surprisingly high water pressure in the shower and the bed was super soft. The resort area outside is on the smaller side, but the beach was excellent. It was only a short walk down the road to the airport beach snorkel area where we saw a giant 4ft turtle. Very happy with our stay here!

Review:   Pros: - good access to a nice beach - plenty of space and pools, never felt crowded - the "convenient store" at the resort had good assortment of groceries, J&J Baby Head-to-Toe!, water diapers, first aid, etc etc...life saver - solid a/c unit in the cottage room Cons: - I felt the service was 3*. House keeping was fine, wasn't that generous replenishing supplies. Front desk got info for me, but wasn't on point. (I was there for a wedding and needed help sometimes to find where things were happening. They couldn't find 1 event for me and showed me to the wrong direction once to the other event. Got there on second try. Another example was I emailed them ahead of time to have a crib in the room when I got there. I confirmed this when I checked in and they had to get someone to bring it to the room on the night of. Plus is was a playpen, not a crib.....and some fat bug about 1/2" long appeared after I set the playpen up. Can't confirm nor deny it came from the playpen so my toddler slept with me.) - expensive shared airport shuttle that stops at 9pm. Info I could have used when the hotel emailed me about this mode of transport when I asked. my flight came in after 9pm and I was caught off guard and had to maneuver around my predicament after my 10+ hr flight. - I was in the cottage room/suite. There was a bit of mold, and some ants. No mosquitoes though!
