As Taiwan’s capital of all things cultural, Taipei offers an unequaled glimpse into what makes this great city tick.
Your day will begin in Keelung Harbor, where your ship will have docked. Our experienced guides will pick you up from this modern seaport and take you directly to Taipei 101, a striking 101 story building that is among the tallest buildings in the world.
You’ll then travel to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, one of the country’s most famous buildings. You’ll tour this impressive blue and white structure and learn about the history of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek and the historic split between mainland China and Taiwan.
From here you’ll be escorted into the ornate Lungshan Temple, after which you’ll tour the Presidential Square. Also called Liberty Square, this enormous public plaza is the city’s major gathering place.
Your last destination is the Martyrs’ Shrine, a beautiful model of Ming Dynasty construction. This stop’s big attraction is the hourly changing-of-the-guards ceremony.
From here, it’s back to your ship at Keelung Harbor.
