After your pick up right off the pier in Taormina you will head to Castelmola, Taormina's balcony. Spend some time exploring the picturesque Piazzetta del Duomo, at the center of town. Castemlmola is known for its famous almond wine, and you will certainly want to stop in to one of the bars to taste some before heading back to Taormina.
Upon arrival in Taormina you will visit The Teatro Greco, the most impressive monument of the city. The theater was originally built by the Romans in the 3rd century, and it has been used to host everything from musicals to gladiator. Also visit San Nicolo di Bari, the 13th century Duomo, and the Public Gardens, home to some 200 different plants and a lovely pagoda.
Taormina is located high on a mountaintop above the harbor and is a town known for its wonderful scenery as well as its position as one of Sicily's chicest resort towns. Here you will get fantastic views of the sea and of nearby Mt. Etna, as well as a quaint medieval-village atmosphere.
There isn't a better way to see the inherent and historic beauty of Sicily!

Please contact ShoreTrips if you are traveling in a group over 8 passengers There may be an occasional port change from Taormina/Naxos to Messina caused by periodic high winds. Messina is accessible to the same sightseeing as Taormina, but is a slightly longer ride. This port requires an increase in cost as the distance from these highlights is further (50 Euros paid to the driver.) Often this change is last-minute and we ask you to have your purser call the number provided on your voucher to advise the driver/escort of the change so they can reach you as quickly as possible. We have found that travelers are willing to pay this fee rather than sacrificing a day of exploring in Sicily.
Your guide will be waiting for you as you disembark or, at a minimum, might be slightly delayed but will meet you. You may have an slight adjustment to your tour itinerary depending on your exit time, but be assured that your knowledgeable driver/escort will direct you to a satisfying day. If you aren't interested in continuing the tour because of this port change please have your purser contact the emergency number provided on your voucher and you will be refunded in full.
