Overview

Experience the majestic beauty of the Chilean Lake District.

Puerto Montt is the gateway to the Chilean Lake District, settled in the 1850s by mostly German pioneers, whose strong influence is still noticeable in the buildings and the orderly countryside.

Take a pleasant city tour of Puerto Montt, the capital of Region X, founded by German settlers in 1853, and enjoy panoramic view from the hills above. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the Main Square or Plaza de Armas before leaving Puerto Montt for a journey north to Lake Llanquihue, Chile’s second largest natural lake. En route to Puerto Varas, you’ll pass through beautiful, lush countryside dotted with weathered barns and centenarian churches.

In Puerto Varas, you will have a magnificent view of Lake Llanquihue, the majestic Osorno Volcanoe and the charming German-style village situated on the east side of the lake.

Upon you return to Puerto Montt, you will visit the colorful Angelmó fishing village famous for its seafood and handicrafts markets.
