Overview

The Verandah Resort & Spa provides a stunning setting for romance, family fun and sumptuous indulgence. Nestled along Antigua's pristine northeast coast, this eco-friendly luxury resort encompasses 30 spectacular beachfront acres traversed by hiking trails and bordered by Devil's Bridge National Park with its dramatic landmark rock arch.

The Verandah offers a range of dining experiences in three exciting restaurants, operated under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Rajah Pillay. All three restaurants are centered in an expansive, centrally located activities complex on The Common, overlooking the pool and manicured grounds. It's a meeting spot for old friends as well as a place to make new ones.

Guests will get that relaxed, on-island feeling from the moment they arrive at The Verandah, and are welcomed with a refreshing fruit punch. A total of four bars will keep Verandah guests cool with a wide range of signature cocktails, top-shelf liquor, wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverages by the glass.

The Verandah Resort & Spa caters to all ages. Verandah lies adjacent to a National Park and its grounds incorporate marked nature trails, two soft white-sand beaches and tranquil waters on a protected covelike bay - just perfect for swimming or snorkeling in its crystal-clear waters. The resort's expansive, shimmering free-form pool is the island's largest, an excellent spot for lounging in the sun or enjoying a cooling dip.

The Verandah offers nonmotorized water sports, including windsurfing, Sunfish sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, and hobie-style catamaran sailing. On land, guests can partake in tennis and table tennis, or enjoy the spacious, well-equipped fitness center. Younger guests are sure to enjoy fun and games at the beautiful Kid's Club.

Guests can also enjoy a short walk to the nearby historic Devil's Bridge attraction for excellent photo opportunities. The uninhabited island sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island also are accessible by a short boat ride. Sightseeing, dining and shopping in historic St. John's are only 30 minutes from the resort by car, as is Antigua's international airport.

Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Food was good, got there at 12 pm never got in our room until 4 pm and we had three young kids. If you want a long beach area, don't go there. Rooms were very nice. Staff were nice for the most part. No beer, pop or water fill ups in your room like other all inclusives. You get 2 bottles of water for the week, then you have to buy it. Only 2 kinds of beer there. Antigua is a very nice place! English Harbour is very nice. Wouldn't go back to that resort though.

Review:   Great place to stay! The staff are super friendly and do everything they can to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The food was good, first time staying in a villa style resort a little bit more walking to and from places but it's good exercise. Grounds are very well kept. Mini putt course is a nice touch, played it everyday. Only complaint would be the bed was very lumpy but sounds like it was just my room other people enjoyed theirs.

Review:   The Verandah is quite a compact resort but never seems like it. The trees and greenery give the impression that the resort is more intimate than it actually is. There are two beaches which are quite small but they do not become overcrowded. Both beaches are sheltered from the open sea so are very calm. A full range of water sports are available. The reataurants serve food to a really high quality with themed nights. Service is efficient and friendly. Different "entertainments" are available throughout the day and in the evening singers and Steel bands perform in the main open air bar. The pool is currently the largest on the island, so no overcrowding. If you have time book a trip to swim with Stingrays, the resort can arrange this for you with StingrayCity. It was fantastic.

Review:   If I could leave 0 stars I would. Vacationers beware, while pretty pictures make it seem like heaven on earth - Verandah Resort leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to customer service and management. This has been a place that I have stayed at multiple times, and have even gone out of my way to recommend to others interested in visiting Antigua. No more - after a recent experience while staying there, Verandah’s management and owner have shown that guest safety is not a concern and instead of addressing it professionally choose to lie and attempt to assuage the situation by tossing accusations and not actually addressing the issue. If you are thinking of Verandah as a place that is safe for your family - think again. Your safety and the safety of your children are of no concern to the owner or his staff - and that’s disgusting. Please think twice before making a reservation here - they don’t deserve your patronage until they address their serious lapse in safety and customer service.
