Overview
If you do this city the right way, you will be totally impressed inside and out!
During the course of this full day tour, your excellent guide will fill you in on the complicated (but fascinating!) history this country has experienced.
Departing from the pier, you'll take a drive around the medieval city wall, which encompasses the Old Town, before starting a guided walking tour through its atmospheric streets. Visit the old churches, view the exterior of the Castle, and enjoy the city’s panorama from the viewing platform. Here, you'll see the intersection of the streets of Lower Town, a lovely maze.
Your tour continues as you follow your guide to Lower Town, where you'll walk past many medieval houses before reaching the Town Hall Square, the location of the oldest surviving Gothic Town Hall in Northern Europe. This is an easy walk, but it's on uneven surfaces on a slight decline and you'll be walking about 1.5 hours.
Across the square is a 15th century apothecary shop, one of the oldest pharmacies still in use. At this point in the tour, you'll have the opportunity to grab a bite to eat at any one of the numerous restaurants in the area. You'll also have free time for shopping.
In the afternoon, we'll take you outside the ancient walls to visit Kadriorg (Catherine's Valley), the largest park in Tallinn. Peter the Great loved this area so much that he built a summer home here, as well as a cabin to live in during the construction.
You'll see the newly-renovated Baroque Palace and garden (all from outside), and make a stopover at the Tallinn Song Bowl, a natural amphitheater and the site of Estonia's national song festivals. Before returning to the pier, we'll drive through a beautiful residential area drowned in greenery on our way to the Pirita Marina, which hosts annual international regattas, and St. Bridget’s Convent, a magnificent monument of 15th century limestone architecture.

- Lunch in an Old Town restaurant will be about €20 per person (about $30).
