Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Excellent! Stayed for one night and this place was great. Good size rooms, comfy beds good size bathrooms. Breakfast was also excellent - very good selection and good quality food constantly being topped up. Well located so within walking distance of all the mains areas. Lots of restaurants and bars all within 15 minutes walk.

Review:   Stayed for one night at the hotel. There was no valet parking available even though it was only 2pm and we were told to find on-street parking but we'd have to move our car every two hours. The room was a reasonable size and clean with a comfortable bed. The kitchenette was cramped and hardly usable. The room was a disabled-access room which is fine but the shower was very poorly designed so you ended up with water all over the bathroom floor unless you only let the water dribble out of the shower. The buffet breakfast had a good range of food of reasonable quality.

Review:   Rating this place as a four to five star hotel is an underestimation. Definitely with 6 to 7 star rating. Being my first time in New Zealand the staff were friendly, helpful, and outgoing. The suite we booked was overwhelming with comfort, cleanliness, and spacious. The breakfast buffet is mind blowing and filling. We got our monies worth and much more. I will definitely book here again anytime I come back to Wellington. Thank you Rydges for making my 2017 Christmas epic and memorable.

Review:   Awful, expensive 'date night' experience. I unfortunately left my new expensive swimsuit to dry on the hook of my rooms bathroom door, post-swim, the morning of checkout, and called a few hours after checkout to claim it. Staff said nothing was in lost + found and someone would get in touch with me. I had to contact the housekeeping manager a number of times myself to get any info. as no one got back to me. I was told the cleaner found nothing. This is unacceptable and untrustworthy. Clients property going 'missing' is not okay, even after checkout. A poor apology and no initiative to help recover my property only magnified the sub-par quality of this hotels service. I also went swimming in their pool twice and contracted an ear infection (which I have never had before) from this. Advise caution. I am local and will never return here and advise family, friends and colleagues to do the same.

Review:   Nice buffet breakfast. Our room had a kitchenette and a safe. The room was clean and the bath room was big. Shampoo and conditioner containers were well labelled. The on-site gym was very small, but you could ask for access to a local gym. The location was good. The beds were good.
