Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Very very nice hotel. Very comfortable beds. Really enjoyed "pillow menu". You can choose what sort of pillow you would like to use. Very interesting feature. Then we went to the SPA. very relaxing atmosphere in there. And, of course, had dinner in Chameleon. The food is absolutely outstanding! Knowledgeable staff, helped us to make our mind. Overall, really enjoyed our stay there.

Review:   Good hotel. Conveniently located. Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel is quiet higher up. Bar has a good range of drinks and breakfast buffet is good.

Review:   Staying with a friend who has lounge access. That was fantastic as the oysters and prawns were fantastic. I had more than 20 oysters. Free breakfast buffet over there as well. Rooms and the rest were as you expect from a 5 star hotel. So all good

Review:   Unfortunately, my 1 night at the InterContinental Wellington wasn't what I expected from an IHG hotel. The positives were the comfortably clean king bed and its pillows, the convenient location, and the front desk staff. The room was not cleaned properly - multiple strands of hair under both drinking glasses in the bathroom, hair in the bathtub, a food smear on the main light switch, a layer of dust behind/in front of the TV, and food crumbs all over one of the sitting chairs. There was also a really strong scent of bleach/cleaner in the bathroom; perhaps emanating from the drain hole in the floor. I found the bell staff (with exception to the man in the top hat) to be curt, brusque, and quite frankly not what I was expecting from this type of hotel. Instead of "hello" or "good morning", I was met with blank stares; like a deer in headlights. The hotel room was like a flashback to the 2000's; tired looking and just lacking in general class. The tattered in-room info book even offered services for copying info onto floppy discs!!!
