Overview
Visit unspoilt villages, taste a local treat, and explore the caverns of the Blue Grotto.
Perhaps after visiting lots of ruins and churches, you'd prefer a lighter experience centered around the culture of Malta. This tour highlights several old villages where many customs and traditions have remained virtually unchanged over the years. You'll also board a boat for an unforgettable trip through Malta's Blue Grotto.
This tour explores the picturesque, unspoilt villages in the southern part of the island. As we travel into these small hamlets and towns, we'll visit the central piazza, the heart of the village community. Walking the narrow alleys and streets, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time. It's refreshing to see that not much has changed from one generation to the next!
Moving on to the pretty fishing village of Marsaxlokk, you'll see a different setting altogether. Low lying buildings and traditional fishing boats called "luzzu" line the waterfront. A local market that takes in fresh fish and supplies other items is an entertaining stop.
Our final destination is Wied iz-Zurrieq, famous for the magnificent Blue Grotto. The village sits in a valley and has a very picturesque harbor. The grotto and neighboring system of sea caves are home to brilliant phosphorescent marine life. The 25-minute boat trip explores the incredible beauty of this natural wonder and is a "must-do" when visiting Malta!
