Explore charming downtown Lima, and then head to Huaca Pucllana for some culture and lunch!
Your tour begins with a walking tour of charming downtown Lima. Your first stop will be at the 1542 Baroque-style San Francisco church and convent, considered to be the most important and beautiful religious monument of Lima. Underground galleries transform gloomy catacombs that served as a cemetery of Lima during the viceroyalty. View the Church's ornate choir stalls, the chapel, the main altar, and a Christ made of carved ivory, as well as the crypt with remains of the conqueror Francisco Pizarro.
Continue your walk past the Desamparados train station to the Main Square, where you will find the Government Palace, Town Hall, Bishop Palace with its beautiful balconies, and the Cathedral of Lima (outside visit only).
Via Santa Rosa Boulevard, you will walk to the Ozambela Mansion before being picked up by your vehicle and traveling to the modern, upscale districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. Stop at the Parque del Amor for a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean, and then make your way to the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca ceremonial complex made by hand with mud bricks. Visit the Huaca and its small museum before enjoying lunch at the restaurant located on the same archaeological site.
