Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   The view from my deck is significant amazing. Price is reasonable high but it’s worth it. The one of biggest problem we have while we stay is the heat up swimming poor is not working. The water is far to cold my kids cannot swimming. All the facilities are really nice plus the restaurant is also good. You can see from the photos. Highly recommend to everyone but make sure their swimming poor working right. VH

Review:   A clean hotel with beautiful views, a friendly, warm staff and even warmer (heated) bathroom floors. But speaking of heat - the amount of fire doors was supurflous, the robes too scratchy, and one more hot tub would have been nice. That said, still four stars for a great stay.

Review:   Awesome hotel! Hands down the best hotel in Taupo! Massive rooms with two bedroom and three bedroom available. Presidential Suite has a 14 chair dining room, 4 ovens, double door fridge, butlers kitchen and main kitchen, two lounges, 3 bathrooms and 3 double bedrooms plus my favourite a movie room with 4 electric reclining lazy boy type leather chairs and a massive 65inch LCD screen and Blu-ray players. Also 4 private decks and and in wall fireplace viewable from dunning and lounge so dual wall see through. The hotel has a pool, spa, gym, great restaurant with amazing food. Underground parking and DVD selection at front desk. Staff are amazing and very accommodating. Hotel pools are also walking distance from hotel with hydroslides etc. Great hotel for kids!

Review:   Quite underwhelming actually. Though it certainly is a nice hotel with a great view, coming to a Hilton one expects the Hilton standard. When arriving, we were greeted with only half of the necessities, considering the amount of guests we were. The suite, which accommodates four people and comes with a built-in kitchen, had shards of broken glass in the dishwasher. The kitchen itself is rather useless: The knives aren't sharpened and the kitchen hood simply sucks up the cooking fumes and blows it into the room. The pullout couch for the third and fourth guest is uncomfortable and squeaky. Also, the bed sheets came off with every single move one made. Something as easy as having the usual two bottles of water ready was not done regularly. However, the managers on-duty did their best to handle the problems. I'll think twice about returning here.

Review:   What a let down! Where to begin? 1.Having no N.Z phone number to converse with staff at the actual Hotel? All conversations had to go through the Philippines to make and amend our booking.Language barriers frustrating! 2. Room not ready, left bags and 2 items of clothing on coat hangers to be picked up when room ready. When arrived to room bags were there but not the 2 items of clothing on coat hangers which were to be worn out that night. The clothes went missing and despite 3-4 conversations with staff weren't found until 1/2 hr before we were due out for dinner. 3. Spa pool tepid. Was looking forward to a spa but could not use due to the extremely low temperature. On talking to locals this is a reoccurring problem which needs a good plumber to fix! 4. At about 0345hrs, we had a fire evacuation, sirens, alarms for about minutes .No staff member appeared and there was no communication about what was happening. We rung the front desk after 10-15 mins and was told it was a false alarm. Very poor emergency protocols! and lack of communication! 5. The lawns were long and looked like they hadn't been mown in 2 weeks, dismal, not portraying the website photos 6.No fresh milk in fridge. We agree with the previous reviewer... This is a luxury hotel, but it was hopeless Won’t be staying at the Taupo Hilton again.
