Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   - we had a king room and found it to be adequately sized for us. We only stayed one night however. If you are staying longer and will have a lot of ski gear/clothing you might want a bigger room for your stuff because it may get tight. - rooms were very clean and modern. Stayed in July 2018 and seemed like a recent Reno had been done. - bed was super comfortable, really can’t complain about anything. - the breakfast was all the usual fare, super good quality and a lot of care and effort had gone into it. - the hotel is not located in walking distance to the shops but it is on the same street. We drove to Taupo and free parking is available at the hotel. Secured parking is also on offer for a price. The hotel faces the lake and you can see the snow topped volcanic area from there too. If you are lucky enough to get a room facing this lake it is amazing. - the restaurant attached to the hotel is worth checking out the food and ambience there is so lovely with great views of lake Taupo. The breakfast is in there too so if you go for the buffet get in early to grab a table right by the massive floor to ceiling windows.

Review:   Definitely not a 5 star Hotel. 1 - Outdoor Heated Pool = Not even warm, very cold. Extremely disappointing for our son, as this was part of the reason we came to the Hilton. Staff recommended using hot springs next door, at an additional cost. 2 - Front desk staff that greeted us on arrival were unhelpful and gave a negative vibe. I must say the cleaning staff were the opposite, friendly and cheerful, so good on them. 3 - On a positive note, the buildings were clean and modern, and we liked the free car parking.

Review:   What an amazing relaxing weekend at the Hilton Taupo. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at Reception, the Bar and Room Service and the Spa was a welcome treat on a chilly day. We will certainly stay here again for a fine dining, relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Thank you.

Review:   High class place. Great friendly staff. Nice big rooms. Out of the way so can't walk to anywhere. Very nice Gym. Parking is a problem unless you pay an extra $10. Walking outside to get to the rooms is a bit strange and not so pleasant when cold and raining.

Review:   I have been to Hilton‘s all around the world and this one is fantastic - my favorite! It seems brand new - everything is impeccable and the service is out of this world. I was here with my two boys and we had a beautiful Junior suite with a balcony & great view. The staff went out of their way to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. Luke at reception is especially amazing. I don’t usually leave such glowing reviews but after staying in some pretty terrible places here in New Zealand, which had the worst Wi-Fi ever by the way - this was an absolute treat!! It made my kids so happy to be here - I’m so thankful !!! Wish I could give more stars
