Panoramic Lisbon, Sintra And The Estoril CoastExplore > Portugal > Lisbon > Panoramic Lisbon, Sintra And The Estoril CoastOverviewSee the best of Lisbon, as well as Sintra and the Estoril Coast. This is the perfect tour for those who wish to see the best that Lisbon has to offer, as well as Sintra and the Estoril Coast. Today you will discover the best of Lisbon and the surrounding areas of Sintra and the Estoril coast. The first stop is Sintra, where hundreds of years of history and culture await you. During a short walk in the old city center, you'll find yourself surrounded by old houses now converted into small quaint handicraft shops and traditional pastry shops. Driving around the mountain you will pass amazing palaces, chalets and aristocratic residences in the most incredible combination of architectural styles, colors, and shapes found anywhere in Portugal. After browsing through hundreds of years of history it will be time for a lovely lunch at one of the many restaurants and cafes available. Continuing on, your driver will take you on a panoramic drive along the coastal road of Estoril, known as the Marginal Road. Running parallel to white sandy beaches and amazing 17th-century fortresses, the Marginal Road is one of the most beautiful and charming itineraries of all the Lisbon surroundings. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. Lisbon was colonized by many civilizations throughout the centuries: Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Moors and finally the Portuguese after 1147. The city is linked with the heroic deeds of the Portuguese maritime explorations in the 15th and 16th centuries. During this Age of Discovery and the Golden Era of Portugal, Lisbon was transformed into the opulent center of a vast empire. Part of the wealth from these expeditions was used to build magnificent monuments in a unique Portuguese style: the extravagant Manueline architectural style, best typified in the monuments located in the area of Belém. Finally, make sure to check out the traditional commercial downtown, which was totally rebuilt in the 18th century following a huge earthquake. - Cruise ship passengers will be met at the cruise terminal by a representative of the tour company, who will then escort you to your touring vehicle, about a 5-10 minute walk from the pier. Hotel guests will be picked up at their hotel. - This tour does not include a licensed guide, rather an English speaking driver.
