This tour includes a visit to the town of Stari Grad and the wine region of Vrboska.
First you will travel to Stari Grad, the oldest town in Croatia. The historical heart of the island of Hvar, Stari Grad is situated in a landscape where the blue of the deep bay touches the green of vineyards and olive groves. The town has much to offer, including a rich history, which your guide will be happy to share with you.
Moving on from Stari Grad, your day continues towards Vrboska, a settlement on the northern coast of the island. Originally a fishing village, the city now boasts vineyards and olive groves as main attractions. With the combination of the Adriatic climate, warm summers, mild winters, and a large number of sunny days, this is a favorable region for winemaking. Today, there is a growing interest in high quality domestic wines like Plavac, Drnekusa, Bogdanusa, Parc, and many others. You will have a chance to taste these popular varietals.
There are numerous new winemakers on Hvar that produce excellent wines, both red and white. You will have the opportunity to purchase your favorites to bring home.
