Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Hidden charges at $60 a day for car parking....now that was not in the fine print when I booked and so the accommodation was not as cheap as I thought!!!! Know better next time. Reasonable accommodation in a very old building that is maintained to a minimum. Front foyer that meets the eye is top class but the rooms are a bit of a let down. Super friendly reception staff and a pleasure to interact with. Would stay again if the parking fees were seriously attended and reduced!

Review:   Not a bad hotel by any means. The room was extremely small and the thermostat was set to 10° when we arrived so it was freezing in the room! The view was very nice and the staff were good. Good hotel for if you need somewhere cheap and convenient.

Review:   The location of the hotel is excellent if you are touring within Sydney. The tram station is 2 mins walk as well 5 minutes to sea life aquarium. The bathroom was a bit small but they had all facilities in it. The bed was comfy. Aesthetic looks of the room are just OK as the hotel looks a bit old. But service was excellent. I also got free drink vouchers that was awesome. Sure will come again..

Review:   Undergoing some construction which was being well managed. Room was comfortable but being on the top floor made for a slightly noisy experience. The ventilation in the room and bathroom can't be switched off. I think I could hear the fans on the rooftop too. However, that being said, the staff were wonderful with great recommendations about where to go to eat. the location of the hotel was awesome within close walking distance to shops and restaurants galore!!! Would certainly stay again ... just not on the top floor lol.

Review:   Really impressed with this hotel. Small room but it packed a punch in a good way. Re-vamped room cleverly designed to maximize the space. Great views over Darling Harbour. When we booked ahead we advised that it was a special anniversary celebration - to our delight we had a bottle of bubbles and a fabulous cheese platter waiting for us. The bed was made daily and clean fresh towels supplied. TAnd the bed was very comfortable, pillows soft and comfy. Accidentally broke the two wine glasses and were not charged. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast (great value for $15) . Staff were most helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay at Ibis Darling Harbour again. Thanks guys we had a great time!!!
