Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Location of hotel is good but there are so many others in the area I wished we booked instead. At check-in the lady at reception had somehow charged my card twice. Once I saw my online statement I rang to politely ask for the second charge to be refunded only to be told she couldn’t help and I had to email and chasing their accounts department for their inconvenient mistake. *After 4 phone calls and 2 emails of my bank statement to staff and accounts we still have not seen a refund. The staff made us feel as if we had spent the extra $320 somewhere and forgot it, they clearly didn’t want to help or care, constantly saying they will call back but never do, this is absolutely ridiculous customer service! Our business would never act this unprofessional if we had mistakenly double dipped on one of our customers. We would be apologetic and resolve it ASAP not pass the blame onto the PAYING customer. I can’t see how they claim to be a 5 star hotel with this poor service and to top it off the Hyatt does not have a swimming pool! What kind of 5 star is this, I was amazed! Stay elsewhere! After our one night stay here we then went to the Star casino hotel and booked a suite, they had a pool and all the amenities you would expect from a 5 star and ten times better than what Hyatt regency Sydney offers. Would never stay here again 1/5. Staff 0/5

Review:   Great place to stay in terms of location. Very convenient. Comfortable rooms, courteous staff. Giving it a 4 star only because of my experience at hotels across the globe where the hospitality has been better in terms of attention to details. Rooms only on one side of the hotel offer great views of the Darling Harbour so if you are particular on that, make that request in advance. Recommended place to stay if you are a tourist and want several tourist attractions at a walkable distance this is the place.

Review:   The Hyatt is a flash hotel and as you walk in there’s sweeping large counters and a high roof and you feel like you’re stepping into a classy hotel! Check in was made easy by the online process and kind staff when we got there to get our keys. We were lucky enough to receive a free upgrade to the new tower room. Rooms are flash, big and have all the amenities you need. Irons and hairdryers are there. The windows are floor to ceiling so you get a good view! We were there for the corporate fighter event which was a spectacle and the grand ballroom was perfect for this. We also experience room service, which was fast, the lobby lounge with reasonably priced drinks and also the buffet breakfast. The Zephyr bar is amazing and has breathtaking views of darling harbour. A great hotel but it doesn’t have a pool.

Review:   Well positioned Hotel close to Darling Harbour the major selling point but slightly disappointing given the reputation of its branding. Our third floor room was compact but has a more aged than modern feel to it. There was no door on the shower which caused some minor flooding on the bathroom floor, our towels were changed once during our three night stay, and the promised queen bed was actually two singles pushed together. I suggest if they offer you a room with harbour views then take it because the city view of the Wilson's car park across the road gets a tad droll after a day or so. Room service is , in my opinion, overpriced. A full breakfast costs $40, pizzas after 11pm $27. The Roof top bar was excellent, the staff were easy going, professional and helpful and the Restaurant was great.

Review:   Really nice and close to everything. I received professional service as I was staying there for an event. The breakfast was pretty good, the rooms were clean and you get two free bottles of water. They only have me one access cars to the room and I ask for another one and they were happy to do so without any hesitation. The roof bar was excellent, yes the drinks were expensive but you are paying for the view and atmosphere and you know it's safe because there is security there close by.
