Overview
Set out on a wonderful day of walking and sightseeing.
This tour begins with a lovely stroll through Quebec City, followed by a trip to Montmorency Falls and Ile d’Orleans. During the day you will be both inside of Quebec City learning about its customs and culture and outside the city limits to see its unending beauty.
We'll start out with your private vehicle to the Isle d'Orleans, known as the Garden of Quebec. The island is home to many, mostly family owned farms, and famous for its Maple products, local producers, and wineries. Ask your guide to stop at one of the many stands along the way, so you can taste the sweet local favorites.
Next, you'll continue with your private vehicle to Montmorency Falls. You'll be sure to get the best views and photos of this natural beauty. Located between the river and the cliffs, it's one of the province's most spectacular sites. 83 meters high, Montmorency Falls dominates the landscape. Take the cable car that goes from the base to the top of the falls and cross the suspension bridge to feel the strength of the current. Panoramic viewpoints await!
We will continue back to the Old City where we will begin a nicely paced walking tour into the lower town neighborhood in Quebec, also known as Basse Ville. Pass by Place Royale, the city's most impressive square. We'll also walk along the pedestrian-only street, Petit-Champlain and see the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church. Your knowledgeable guide will point out all things of interest and you will be able to ask as many questions as you want!
We will continue to the famous funicular (inclined railway) and ride into Upper Town. Here we will see La Place d'Armes (Army Square), where it's not uncommon to see street performers and musicians. See also La Terrasse Dufferin and Place l'Hotel de Ville with the impressive City Hall right in front of it.
And, of course, we will walk through the Frontenac area of Quebec which includes the famous Chateau and visit parts of the fortified walls that surround the Old City.
- The cost of meals/beverages is not included in the price of the tour. We will incorporate a lunch stop.
- You must feel comfortable walking over uneven pavement, occasionally on an incline.
- Entrance to the falls and the cable car ride are included.
