Our Island's Finest Private TourExplore > Canada > Charlottetown > Our Island's Finest Private TourOverviewRelive the days of Anne of Green Gables during this trip along PEI's breathtaking North Shore. Prince Edward Island is such a lovely, charming place. It's easy to see why Anne of Green Gables' author L.M Montgomery found it so enchanting. This is a private tour, so you are can follow the itinerary below or amend the day's activities, based on your interests. Your experienced local guide will be happy to help you decide on how to make your day on Prince Edward Island the most enjoyable for you. View rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, tiny villages, and bustling harbours along the Blue Heron Drive as we get ready to tour the North Shore of Prince Edward Island. We'll make brief photo stops at quaint little fishing villages, lighthouses, and the incomparable Cavendish Beach. First, we'll travel to the famous PEI National Park, home of Cavendish and the Green Gables House. This old farm site inspired L.M. Montgomery to create Anne of Green Gables, the beloved tale of a little red-haired orphan girl who captured the hearts of readers across the globe. Step back to a simpler time as you explore the place that inspired the enduring book. A "must-stop" for a leisurely lunch (not included in tour price) will be at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, a converted 1912 butter factory that showcases some of the island's best products and preserves. After lunch we will visit the Dunes Studio Gallery which showcases some of the finest work of local artists. Depending on the day you may see artists working in their studio as there are daily demonstrations. The Gallery itself is architecturally interesting and surrounded by extensive gardens. We have found this to be a stop many enjoy! As we make our way back to Charlottetown, you will be delighted to stop at Dalvay By the Sea, a beautiful, graceful resort situated between a lake and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. This National Historic Site is wonderfully maintained and is the perfect location for a photo to capture your memories of the day. - Because this is a private tour and you might not choose to go to the places with entrance fees, we have not included entrance fees in the price of this tour. Admission to the Green Gables House is $6.55 and Cavendish Beach is $3.40 Canadian Dollars. - The cost of lunch at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company is not included in the tour cost ($10-$30 per plate). - Please dress comfortably.
