This tour begins with a memorable drive through historic downtown Charlottetown. See the many gorgeous historic homes, churches, and parks located on the south shore of Prince Edward Island. We'll make a tasty stop at PEI Preserves in New Glasgow, where you'll be tempted by the company's specialty preserves, honey, BBQ sauce, salsa, teas, and more. Continue on to the coastal fishing village of North Rustico and the famous PEI National Park, home of Cavendish and the Green Gables House. This old farm site inspired L.M. Montgomery to create Anne of Green Gables, the beloved tale of a little red-haired orphan girl who captured the hearts of readers across the globe. Step back to a simpler time as you explore the place that was the setting for the enduring book. You’ll have ample opportunity to tour the homestead, walk the paths, and stroll the boardwalk overlooking the beautiful sandy beaches. Your next destination is Rustico Harbour, where you'll visit a traditional fishing village and learn about the history of the PEI fishery. Relax and enjoy the picturesque landscape on the drive back to the city. You'll be returned to the cruise ship pier at the end of this informative, enjoyable and interesting day. - Because this is a private tour and you might not choose to go to the places with entrance fees, we have not included entrance fees in the price of this tour.
