Truly an introduction into another culture with an intro to farming and Vietnamese cooking.

Experience a day of living and working with the local people in Tra Que vegetable village, in which you will have a chance to discover the daily life of farmers.

On this tour you will:
• Enjoy private transportation and a local English-speaking guide throughout the day
• Walk and talk through the organic vegetable and herb fields
• Meal included as described; beverages not included
• Applicable entrance fees
• Hands-on class with English-speaking Vietnamese chef
• Boat ride on the Hoi An River


Disembark in Da Nang and enjoy your ride to Hoi An, while your guide gives you background of the history and rebuilding of the city. The coastline is lovely and it is a short pleasant ride to Hoi An. A welcome drink at a local cafe will energize you.

Tra Que Organic Village is a charming little village on the edge of Hoi An. The village is named after the sweet scented vegetables that spice up the everyday meals of the Pho Hoi people. Its a 10 minute ride to this village, where you will walk through the market gardens where local farmers work their fields using the traditional methods of hundreds of years ago.

While learning of their crops, you will pick some saw-tooth coriander and Vietnamese mint for your cooking lesson later in the day. YOu will be introduced to a special herbal drink at a local home nearby.

Having a basic understanding of techniques of the local farmers, you will be transferred to teh Red Bridge Cooking School where you will have a chance to freshen up before beginning the class. The chef at Red Bridge will work with you and teach you the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food from scratch.

Using the freshest ingredients and traditional Vietnamese utensils, you will prepare four famous dishes including the national dish 'Pho". After class, enjoy a short feedback session and take the chance to savour the dishes you have prepared. Au revoir to the chef before you board a local boat for a short cruise along the Hoi An River back to the center of the city.

Your comfortable ride back to Da Nang will give you time for reflection.
