Visit one of Alaska's famous glaciers.

Mendenhall Glacier, a 12-mile long slow-moving mass of ice, is one of Southeast Alaska's most popular attractions.

This tour includes:
- Round trip transportation from the Mt. Roberts Tram
- Sightseeing tour of Juneau
- Visit to Mendenhall Glacier
- Admission to Mendenhall Glacier Visitor's Center

Juneau is an interesting place, more sophisticated and vibrant than you would expect. It is also unlike any other state capital in this country, as it is accessible only by sea or air. It has no flat land to speak of and it has a giant icefield blocking off any chance of land access. It has been said that there are no stolen cars in Juneau, just joy rides, as there is nowhere to go!

After boarding your small van or bus, your tour begins in historic downtown Juneau, with its narrow, angled streets and interesting architecture--an area that you might choose to return to later on. Among the buildings that you will pass are the Alaska State Museum, the State Office Building, and the octagonal St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church.

Located a short drive from downtown Juneau in the Tongass National Forest, the remarkable Mendenhall Glacier is 12 miles long from its origin on the Juneau Icefield to its terminus at Mendenhall Lake. Your visit here will be about an hour and a half long. Your time at the glacier is self-guided, so you can roam the grounds as you wish. At certain times of the year, you'll be able to see bears catching fish in the stream from an overlook point located off to one side of the entrance to the glacier. The glacier itself is one of the most accessible to the public. We'll drive within a mile of the face.

- The price of this tour includes admission to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor's Center.

- Every facet of this tour is wheelchair accessible, however, you must contact ShoreTrips when you make a reservation to be sure that the appropriate vehicle is available on your travel date.
