Private Antiquing On The Isle Sur La SorguesExplore > France > Marseille > Private Antiquing On The Isle Sur La SorguesOverviewLove to search for antiques? Travel to the Isle sur la Sorgues, home to more than 130 shops. For those who love shopping and antiques, this trip takes you to the famed Isle sur la Sorgues. This medieval town is built on an island in the Sorgue, and is therefore also called "Provencal Venice." Most of its fame comes from the antique dealers and its Sunday morning market. The more than 130 different antique shops that are spread all over the town have given an international reputation to this place. The Sunday morning general market is a real pleasure to stroll around: cheeses, vegetables, provençal fabrics...everything looks delicious and beautiful. Next to the general market is the antique market and the Island of Antique Dealers; here you can find pretty much everything, from the most eccentric and uncommon objects to the most exquisite and wonderful furniture. Your guide can arrange shipping if you want to take home something too voluminous. In the afternoon, drive via Fontaine-de-Vaucluse to admire the turquoise waters of a mysterious spring, to the Senanque Abbey, one of the best preserved 12th-century Cistercian abbeys of Provence. Stop here to appreciate the abbey from the exterior; it is outstanding in its purity, sobriety and harmony. - Please keep in mind that the order of this tour is approximate. Your guide will adapt to the rhythms and interests of your group, so please let her know of any special questions or interests that you may have. Days offered: Sunday Departures:
