Overview
Visit this very green and lush region.
The Tigre Delta--with its rivers, streams, and numerous green islands--is one of the most attractive areas in the region.
Our adventure begins with a scenic drive enroute to the Tigre Delta. Along the way, we'll pass through the most residential quarters in the suburbs of Capital Federal.
Our first stop is in San Isidro, one of the most affluent municipalities in Argentina. San Isidro's center is a historic area with cobbled streets and old single-story houses. At its heart is Plaza Mitre, with the neo-Gothic San Isidro Cathedral of 1898 rising high above the city. Take some time here to explore the impressive cathedral or stroll the charming neighborhood streets.
Next, we'll embark on a favorite pastime--a leisurely ride on a comfortable boat along the water passageways! Boat rides into the delta offer peeks at local stilt houses, colonial mansions, and an incomparable sub-tropical wonderland. Enjoy the ride as you marvel at the surroundings!
On Saturdays, a visit to the local, colorful market--with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and wicker-wares--is a must.
- Please note: Tours in Tigre involve a boat ride through the canals. The boat portion of the tour is not private.
