Start your day off with a relaxing 90-minute drive through the lovely Mecklenburg countryside towards Schwerin, a gorgeous town surrounded by picturesque lakes. Upon arrival in the Schwerin area, you'll board a boat for a scenic lake cruise with views of the historic skyline and disembark right in front of the famous Schwerin Castle, a dreamlike fairy tale castle located in the middle of a lake.
For centuries, the castle was the home of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg and later Mecklenburg-Schwerin. It currently serves as the seat of the state parliament. You'll enjoy a guided visit of the old residence of the Mecklenburg dukes and see the magnificent throne hall, library, and other beautiful rooms with unique woodwork, carvings, and inlays.
Your tour continues on foot, where you'll discover other Schwerin sights such as town hall, the cathedral, the regional parliament, the old market, and the residential Pfaffenteich district.
Your ride will end near the downtown shopping area, where you’ll have some free time to stroll around, enjoying souvenir and handicraft shops along the “Schlosstrasse.” Relax with a cup of coffee before heading back to Warnemunde.
