Overview

Visit the must-sees of Lubeck and Wismar!

This tour combines the UNESCO world heritage site of Lubeck with the Swedish splendor of Wismar, and reveals truly cultural treasures.

Enjoy a wonderful city tour of Lubeck and Wismar.

Your first stop will be Lubeck, one of the most important mercantile towns in the Baltic. Lubeck is actually the second largest city in Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany, and one of the major ports of Germany. It's even on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites for its brick Gothic architecture!

We'll see City Hall and the Holstentor before visiting St. Mary’s Church, constructed somewhere between 1250 and 1350. For many years, it's been a symbol of the power and prosperity of the old Hanseatic city. The church is the third largest church in all of Germany and is the tallest building in the old part of Lubeck. Along with the city, the church is listed by UNESCO as of cultural significance.

Next we'll go to the lively main shopping mile and the world famous Niederegger shop (it's been around since 1806!), where you'll have the opportunity to indulge your sweet tooth with delicious marzipan treats! Even if you're not a marzipan fan, you'll be amazed by the gorgeous and intricate window displays!

During the second part of the city tour, we'll focus more on the history of the Hanseatic League and you'll see highlights such as the Schiffergesellschaft and Holy Ghost Hospice.

Then we're on to Wismar! The historical towers of Wismar’s impressive old churches will amaze you from far away. Huge warehouses, imposing brick Gothic architecture, and old walls give evidence of the Hanseatic League. Discover the beautiful Swedish architecture when walking along the Market Square. See the Wasserkunst (a renaissance welling house right in the centre of the market place), as well as the impressive classicistic City Hall, before it is time to take leave and return to the ship.

- Food and beverages are not included in the tour cost.
- Please note: Generally we place parties of 7-8 passengers in a 16-seater minibus.
