Overview
See the highlights of Bergen including Grieg's home, a stave church, the Funicular & silver treasure
Get to know Bergen with a driving tour of the city’s highlights. You will see the wharf area, Bryggen, the fortress, city park, St. Mary’s Church and more!
You will then drive south of the city center, past the Royal Residence and the Old Hill, before arriving at Troldhaugen, the residence of the composer Edvard Grieg.
Following a guided tour of the villa, your tour continues on to the stave church at Fantoft. The old church was originally built in the area of the Sognefjord, moved to Fantoft in 1883, and destroyed by arson in 1992. Reconstruction of an exact copy of the church was promptly initiated, and completed in 1997. There is a short walk on a foot path to the church.
Back in the city center, your driving tour will end at the lower station of the Funicular, which you will board for an exciting 6-7 minute ride up to the top of Mount Fløien. There your guide will point out the main places of interest from this magnificent vantage point over the city and surrounding area.
