Overview
Enjoy a cool subterranean music concert in the caves and buy pearls straight from the source!
Known as "the Island of Tranquillity," Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands. Besides the cosmopolitan city of Palma, the island offers mountains, lush valleys, fine beaches, and little fishing villages where life is simple. Writers, painters, and musicians flock to this idyllic island for the inspiration that you will also find.
We'll drive out to Porto Cristo, a gorgeous resort area with an old-world charm that you'll just fall in love with. Of course, no visit to Porto Cristo would be complete without exploring the cool Caves of Drach, a series of spectacular caverns leading to Europe's largest underground lake. It is a sight to behold - and cool as well in the heat of the summer!
Enjoy a boat ride on the lake while listening to a concert of classical music. The exceptional lighting system enhances the natural beauty of the caves, where stalactites and stalagmites form fascinating shapes in the water, giving the impression of mountains growing from the depths.
We'll also incorporate a stop at a local pearl factory to see how pearls are created, cultivated and then treated to become world renowned Mallorca Pearls. Purchasing pearls is up to you... and if you do, enjoy the reasonable factory prices!
