On this excursion, you will discover something that few travellers are privvy to : Madrid has a beautiful unpolluted rural area with a fascinating story.
You will visit the area known as Sierra Pobre, where the breath-taking landscapes include varying scenes of red-toned earth, and solitary rural paths resplendent with gorgeous flora, majestic lakes, and rolling mountains covered with conifer forests and wildflowers.
You will also pass by old stone villages with animal stables that have been standing strong for many years. In all, you will be experiencing a most unspoiled, singular rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Along the way you will make stops at Buitrago de Lozoya, where you will visit a small museum dedicated to the great Pablo Picasso. You will also travel through the surrounding areas of Robledillo, Puebla de la Sierra, Montejo, Pinuecar, and Mangiron, with your guide describing the lovely terrain along the way.
