Walking Tour Of Historical BarcelonaExplore > Spain > Barcelona > Walking Tour Of Historical BarcelonaOverviewA great way to see the magical city of Barcelona on foot. Barcelona is set on a plain rising gently from the sea to a range of wooded hills. It boasts beautiful vistas, unusual parks, and a fascinating medieval core dotted with examples of Gothic architecture. You will meet up with your guide before heading down the Ramblas, the most famous Barcelona street--a wide bustling avenue lined with street artists, bars, restaurants, and market traders--for a true taste of the city. Walk a bit and see the first of many examples of the architecture and history of Barcelona, before continuing on to the magnificent Gothic Cathedral on Plaza de Sant Jaume. Also see Plaza del Rey, Vía Laietana, and Sta. Maria del Mar Church--an awesome example of Catalan-Gothic architecture, with octagonal towers with flat tops, large bare surfaces, an exceptionally tall interior, and soaring vertical lines. Your tour will finish at the spectacular Santa Caterina Market. A model of what a modern city food market should be, Santa Caterina is home to more than 100 stalls selling Catalan meats and produce, all encased in a cathedral-like structure with a roof made of 300,000 ceramic tiles in 67 colors. - Entrance fees, food, beverages, and any other extra(s) are not included. - If you're arriving on a cruise ship, you'll need to take a taxi from the pier to the central meeting point, which will cost between 12€ and 15€. Taxis hold a maximum of four people. Costs vary from hotels. - There is a maximum of 25 people per tour and guide. If you have more than 25 people, please call ShoreTrips.
