OverviewSpend the day walking among olive groves & around medieval villages. Then cool off at the beach! Soon after meeting your guide and air-conditioned vehicle at the port, you will be on your way out of town. This tour includes: • Round trip transfer to/from cruise ship pier • Private English-speaking tour guide • Private vehicle and driver • Beautiful walk between the medieval towns of Giannades and Liapades (approx. 3 hours) • Stop for coffee and ouzo or refreshment • Donkey ride from Liapades town square to a beautiful cove • Corfiot lunch at a lovely taverna beside the Ionian Sea • Use of taverna's facilities: swimming pool, sun bed and umbrella Your beautiful day on Corfu will begin with a scenic drive to the medieval village of Giannades, with its elevated location and spectacular views of the valley below. From there you'll begin an easy-going hike through countryside covered with ancient olive groves and elegant cypress trees. You'll see fabulous views of the dramatic western coastline with its secluded coves before you reach the picturesque town of Liapades. There you'll enjoy ouzo in the square before continuing on a donkey to the sea. In both Giannades and Liapades, time seems to be standing still. The tall Venetian manor houses with colorful courtyard gardens, narrow twisting cobblestone lanes, striking square bordered by "skalina" steps with characteristic kafeneion, medieval church, central tree of idleness, and water well, all remain as they have for centuries. With luck, some of the village ladies, often in traditional dress, will pass by on their donkeys and will invite you for a ride… Your tour will continue on a donkey to the sea, where you'll spend the afternoon at the lovely cove of Liapades, just south of Paleokastritsa. There you'll relax over a leisurely Greek lunch, and afterward, lie next to the taverna's pretty swimming pool or dive into the Ionian Sea. • The price of this tour includes all transfers, a great walking guide, coffee and ouzo, donkey ride to the sea, lunch, sunbed and umbrella. • The walk itself is about 3 hours long. Please wear good walking shoes/boots, a hat, and sun screen, and bring a walking stick, towel and swimming gear in a backpack. (If you cannot bring a walking stick, your guide can make one for you from the bamboo that grows in the area.) •PLEASE NOTE that tour departure time is listed in local Greek time, not ship time. Please check with your ship's purser regarding the conversion between ship and local time. • Minimum 6 people required for this tour. • Maximum 30 people. • Minimum age is 7 years old.
