Overview
Your private jeep chauffeur is also your guide!
The north of Corfu island is dominated by the rocky Pantokrator Mountain, which reaches from the sea to almost 1,000 meters high. Perched on the top is a monastery, home to some very precious icons and with fabulous views over the island, the Greek mainland, and Albania. Your expedition, expertly led by a local guide, avoids all main roads and follows as many off-road tracks and small country roads as possible.
This tour includes:- Round trip transportation from the cruise ship pier
- A one-of-a-kind Jeep excursion up Pantokrator Mountain
- A private chauffeur
- Coffee and a refreshment
- An original meze lunch
- Lots of incredible views and photo opportunities!
From the port, you'll board our Jeep and we'll head directly to the bottom of the mountain (about half an hour), following the curving road along beautiful olive groves through the picturesque village of Ano Korakiana. Via the Spider Path, we'll make our way to Sokraki, one of Corfu's highest and oldest hidden mountain villages. Enjoy a coffee at the lovely local square and then we'll continue along through traditional villages with beautiful landscapes and fabulous views.
Now it's time for some real tough off-road track! We'll pass peaceful grazing herds of goats and sheep as we head towards one of the deserted stone villages dating from Byzantine times. Here, you'll enjoy an original mountain meze lunch at the old taverna in the village square.
After lunch and a stroll through the village, your Jeep continues its climb up the mountain. Continuing over a long off-road track, we'll eventually arrive at the impressive mountain top with its monastery at the very peak. After a short explanation of the views below, you'll have ample time for a refreshment and for exploring the site.
