Half Day Bike Trip Through Olive Groves And Medieval VillagesExplore > Greece > Corfu > Half Day Bike Trip Through Olive Groves And Medieval Villages
OverviewExplore the olive groves and medieval villages of Corfu on bike. Mountain biking is a unique way to explore the hidden and unspoiled parts of the green Corfu countryside. Cycle under the cool shade of the island's ageless olive groves on country roads and trails passing through some unknown and hidden, yet most picturesque, traditional villages. Take the day to explore the beautiful land and seascapes of Corfu by bike. Your ride will cover 13 miles and offers you the opportunity to see three medieval villages. When you get to the bike shop, you'll select your favorite bicycle and receive the necessary road instructions. Accompanied by your experienced local guide, you'll start by pedaling along the strikingly beautiful blue waters of the Ionian Sea. After a while, you'll leave the coastal road and enter Corfu's green hinterland. Then it's a short climb along impressive ancient olive groves to the medieval town of San Marcos, a Venetian hamlet with carefully restored mansions and a chapel dating back to Byzantine times. Your effort will be rewarded with stunning views from the bell tower, from the green inner plains of the island all the way to the port of Corfu. Now continue to another of Corfu's most picturesque medieval villages, Ano Korakiana. Visit the old bakery with their olive wood oven, where you will be invited to taste the very special "old-style" bread or a specialty Greek sweet. Stroll through the narrow paved alleys with numerous Venetian mansions, and inhale the typical village atmosphere from times long past. Your bike ride continues along olive groves and vineyards to reach a pretty taverna right on the beach near the seaside town of Kato Korakiana. At the terrace, an excellent meze buffet with a bountiful selection of seasonal fruits, olives, meats, cheeses, and more awaits. For the return trip, it's a slow downhill glide, allowing you to savor your surroundings and relish the beautiful scenery along the way. - The price of this tour includes round trip transportation from the cruise ship pier, a great guide, use of all equipment, a bottle of water, and a snack of fresh bread, fruit, and juices. - This trip requires a minimum of 2 people.
