Rock Climbing In The Gorge Of SaintsExplore > Greece > Crete > Rock Climbing In The Gorge Of SaintsOverviewThis unique tour combines a hike, rock climbing, and beach time in lovely Cretan surroundings. Hike through the historic gorge before emerging at the crystal clear waters of Mediterranean Sea. In the unique beach of Agiofarago, discover your spirit of adventure by participating in this Rock Climbing activity! Welcome to Agiofarago, or the "Gorge of Saints." This gorge used to be the shelter of the monks of the near by Monasteries. Begin your hike through the gorge, with its pink oleanders, to one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches of Crete: Liviko Pelagos. There you will have the chance to see the cave - the house of a monk, a local hero during the revolution of 1866. You will certainly be impressed by the view of a natural lagoon connected underground with the sea. Your guide's experience and enthusiasm for rock climbing, and the spectacular climbing routes on the cliffs and the rocks of the area will make this a truly unforgettable experience. On the sea cliffs you will find bolt-protected climbing routes, as well as routes that require natural protection (on nuts, etc.) for all abilities. After your climb, you will have the chance take a dip in the water, or just relax on the beach. Enjoy a nice picnic lunch that has been brought by your guide. - We suggest you bring a backpack, appropriate shoes, a water bottle, hat, sun screen, swimsuit, and towel.
