Post Cruise Tour Of Valparaiso, Viña Del Mar & SantiagoExplore > Chile > Santiago > Post Cruise Tour Of Valparaiso, Viña Del Mar & Santiago
OverviewExplore the old district of Valparaíso, the garden city of Viña del Mar, and Santiago. This full-day tour features the old district of Valparaíso, the garden city of Viña del Mar, and Santiago de Chile. On this tour you will see/visit: • Valparaiso • Viña del Mar • Downtown Santiago • Club Hipico • Parque O'Higgins • Cousiño Palace • The Alameda • Plaza de Armas • Mapocho River • Bellavista District • San Cristóbal Hill • Lunch After departing the ship, your tour begins with a drive through the city of Valparaiso, heading north to the seaside resort of Viña del Mar, where you'll see the resort's famous landmark--the floral clock. Continue through the central valley, crossing the coastal range in a two-hour scenic journey to Santiago. En route, stop to sample a typical Chilean snack of empanadas, served with local wine. Welcome to Santiago, city of contrasts. With remnants of its colonial past intermingled with ultramodern, high-rise buildings in the financial center, this metropolis will surprise you. Begin by heading south through the downtown area, passing the Club Hípico, a beautiful horseracing track in the older residential area of the city. Proceed alongside the Parque O'Higgins and the Cousiño Palace, built between 1870 and 1878 for the wealthy Cousiño family. From there, travel along the famous Alameda, Santiago's colourful main avenue. See the lively Plaza de Armas, the city's main square, and then cross the Mapocho River to reach the bohemian Bellavista district on your way to San Cristóbal Hill. From one of the hill's view points, you will have the finest views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. During the tour, lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Afterwards, a short stop will be made for those wishing to buy lapis lazuli, a semi-precious blue stone found only in Chile and Afghanistan. At the end of the day, you'll pass through the modern residential areas of the city on the way to your hotel or the airport. • This tour is available for those with flights departing from Santiago's international airport at 9 p.m. or later the day of disembarkation. • The cost of lunch is included. One beverage (soft drink or water) included during meal. Additional beverages or alcohol is not included. • If you are traveling alone, please contact ShoreTrips for rates on this tour.
