Post Cruise Full Day Classical Santiago City TourExplore > Chile > Santiago > Post Cruise Full Day Classical Santiago City TourOverviewEnjoy this tour of fascinating Santiago, a city of contrasts. Enjoy a beautiful journey from the pier in Valparaíso towards the spectacular Andes. Before arriving at the capital of Chile there will be a brief stop en route to taste Chilean wine and empanadas (turnovers). On this tour you will see/visit: • Pick up from cruise ship pier with drop off at Santiago Hotel or Airport • Downtown Santiago • Club Hipico • Parque O'Higgins • Cousiño Palace • The Alameda • Plaza de Armas • Mapocho River • Bellavista District • San Cristóbal Hill Santiago is a city of contrasts. With remnants of its colonial past intermingled with ultramodern, high-rise buildings in the financial center, this metropolis will surprise you. Begin by heading south through the downtown area, passing the Club Hípico, a beautiful horseracing track in the older residential area of the city. Proceed alongside the Parque O'Higgins and the Cousiño Palace, built between 1870 and 1878 for the wealthy Cousiño family. From there, travel along the famous Alameda, Santiago's colourful main avenue. See the lively Plaza de Armas, the city's main square, and then cross the Mapocho River to reach the bohemian Bellavista district on your way to San Cristóbal Hill. From one of the hill's view points, you will have the finest views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains. During the tour, lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Afterwards, a short stop will be made for those wishing to buy lapis lazuli, a semi-precious blue stone found only in Chile and Afghanistan. To round out the tour, you will pass through the modern residential areas of the city with their daring architecture. • Please note: Museums in Chile are closed on Mondays, but the tour can still run. • The cost of lunch is included. One beverage (soft drink or water) included during meal. Additional beverages or alcohol is not included. • Gratuities and any other extra(s) not included. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
