Only about one hour after leaving Messina you will arrive in the lovely town of Taormina.

Right off the pier in Taormina you will be met by your driver/guide and depart for Giardini Naxos which settles in on the coast of the Ionian Sea. A city that once trumped Taormina in size now serves as a small fishing village with structural remains of its early days as Sicily's first Greek colony scattered throughout the town. The panoramic view of this bay will leave you wanting to lay out with the rest of the beach goers and enjoy some of the best views in the area.
Next you will return to Taormina which nestles in the hills just above Giardini Naxos. Known for its incredible views of the Ionian Sea and Mt. Etna the city known as the "Queen of Sicily" gives you an inside look at a Sicilian hotspot that has been thriving since the 19th century.
In Taormina you will visit the Teatro Greco, the most impressive monument of the city. The theater was originally built by the Romans in the 3rd century, and has been used to host everything from musicals to gladiators. The preservation of the architecture and the beautiful views of the bay make this one of the most celebrated landmarks in all of Sicily.
Finally you will take a relaxing 20 minute ride to Taromina's balcony, Castelmola. Spend some time exploring the picturesque Piazzetta del Duomo at the center of town as you make a final toast to your trip with glass of "almond wine" before heading back to Messina.
