Vinci And The Wine Of The Pisano HillsExplore > Italy > Florence > Vinci And The Wine Of The Pisano HillsOverviewExplore Leonardo da Vinci's past before heading to the Pisano hills for a wine tasting. Your trip will begin at the cruise ship pier, where you will be met by your private, licensed, driver/guide, who will accompany you everywhere during your adventure. This tour includes: • Round trip transportation from the cruise ship pier • Drive to Vinci • Visit to Da Vinci's native house, Conti Guidi Castle, and Leonardo Museum • Drive to Pisano hills • Visit to winery • Wine tasting • Option to visit a second winery or stop for lunch From Livorno, it is only about 50 minutes to Vinci, where you will stop at the house where famed Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci was born. Visit the Conti Guidi Castle, where the Leonardo Museum is located. This museum, which dates back to 1953, is comprised of a series of machines inspired by Leonardo. The models are accompanied by descriptive notes, and the series of reconstructions use real dimensions to compare Leonardo's designs to analogous mechanisms belonging to inventors before, during, and after his lifetime. Take some time to enjoy the landscape, and see the olive trees that inspired many of the artist's paintings. From Vinci to the Pisano hills is about a 45-minute drive, and you'll be stopping at a winery before you know it. At the cellar, you'll be treated to a delightful tasting. Learn about the wine tradition of this area, which has ancient roots. After a stop in another small village, you can either choose to visit a second winery or stop for lunch. • Lunch and entrance fees are not included in the price of this tour. • We have found that there may be a rare occurrence of a port change from Livorno to La Spezia. La Spezia is accessible to the same sightseeing as Livorno, but is a slightly longer ride. This port requires an increase in cost as the distance from these highlights is further. Your guide will be waiting for you as you disembark. You may have an adjustment to your tour itinerary depending on your exit time, but be assured that your knowledgeable driver/escort will direct you to a satisfying day. This change is an exception to our policy that ship changes will result in a refund. People have been too disappointed sitting on the ship after this itinerary change and we feel this is in the best interest of the traveler. The total additional cost is $215. We apologize for your difficult day, but promise that the sun will shine as soon as you meet your driver. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
