Overview
Spend the morning in some of the most famous resort towns in the area surrounding Genoa.
This excursion will show you some of the most famous resorts in the area surrounding Genoa. Admiring the beautiful Ligurian coast, you will reach Rapallo by the panoramic road and then Portofino by boat.
A little under an hour after leaving Genoa you will reach Rapallo. Set on the Eastern part of the Tigullio bay, this town has become a famous tourist resort thanks to its well-deserved fame as an exclusive health resort. Once a free town, it became part of the Genoese republic in 1229. Rapallo's Castle is the symbol of that period.
After you are done exploring Rapallo you will board the boat to Portofino. Set in a stupendous bay, Portofino is a fisherman village with houses overlooking the harbour and its square. It is considered to be among the most beautiful Mediterranean ports, and is a popular tourist destination. The history of this village started when it entered the dominion of the Republic of Genoa, and St. George's fort and castle are a symbol of that period. The fishermen's boats were a sign of the predominantly seafaring activity of its men, which was linked to that of its women: the creation of an extremely fine lace which can still be bought here.
This tour includes a great, English-speaking guide and all transportation.
Please note that in the winter season the boat ride to Portofino is not available, and you will be transferred to Portofino by car.
