Private Journey Through The Cinque TerreExplore > Italy > Genoa > Private Journey Through The Cinque TerreOverviewSpend a magical day journeying through the famed Cinque Terre. Composed of five small coastal villages, the Cinque Terre, which became a Unesco World Heritage site in 1997, is one of the most uncontaminated areas in the Mediterranean Sea. Each town is a unique destination carved into the steep terraced coastline. This tour includes: • Private transportation • English-speaking driver • Time for lunch (additional cost) Visit/see: • Portovenere • Riomaggiore • Manarola • Monterosso • Vernazza (if time permits) After meeting up with your driver, you'll depart from Genoa in your private, air-conditioned vehicle. Your first stop will be La Spezia, where you'll board the boat to Portovenere. Approaching this beautiful village by boat will give you the chance to admire the amazing coast and natural landscape. The village of Portovenere stretches out over a rocky spur with the church of S. Pietro--built in Genovese Gothic style and dominated by an impressive castle--on its top. The village also offers a succession of tall, nicely painted houses overlooking the sea, and many medieval corners to explore. After Portovenere, board the boat to Riomaggiore, where the sea, hills, vineyards, ancient villages, and Genovese-style churches create breathtaking scenery. After Riomaggiore, you'll move on to Manarola by walking through the famous "Via dell'Amore." This walk offers a wonderful view over the coastal sandstones and Punta Mesco promontory. The trail, which will take about 20 minutes to walk, is suitable for everyone--and it is unforgettable! From Manarola, you'll proceed by train to Monterosso. Spread out at sea level, this village has notable artistic scenic references. See the Medieval "Down Tower" (Torre Aurora), which divides the old part of town from the new; the Van Dick Crucifix in San Francisco's church; and the 18th century Sanctuary of Soviore on the hillside. And don't miss the local Ligurian products! Take some time to taste the wines, liqueurs, oils, and famous Ligurian pesto. Enjoy lunch (additional cost) in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea. • This is a private tour. • Lunch and ferry tickets are not included in the price of this tour. • A boat tour (one way) is 16€ per person. The ticket will allow you to visit all the Cinque Terre, one way. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
