Temple Of Artemis, Ephesus And The Terrace HouseExplore > Turkey > Kusadasi > Temple Of Artemis, Ephesus And The Terrace HouseOverviewThis tour will introduce you to several treasures of the ancient world. After meeting your official Turkish guide at the cruise ship pier, you'll continue to Selcuk, where the Roman city of Ephesus is located. Upon arrival, you'll visit the site of Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which Alexander the Great visited while it was being constructed in 335 B.C. You'll then continue on to Ephesus, one of the most magnificent and best-preserved ancient sites in the world. Ephesus was founded by the Amazons, but now it's more commonly believed to have been the Hittite city of Apasa. Tour the site, including the Celsus Library, whose facade has been carefully reconstructed from all original pieces; the Great Theatre, with a seating capacity of 25,000; and the Temple of Hadrian. You'll also tour the Terrace Houses, located on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain, opposite the Hadrian Temple. Only the wealthy could afford such houses; as such, the site is now a reminder of the lavish style of life that was experienced by the rich inhabitants of Ephesus. The excavations started in 1960, and many of the findings have been left in their original places. - All entrance fees are included in the price of this tour. - Ephesus gets very crowded and extremely hot in the summer months, so take plenty of water, sunscreen, and head covers. - Always communicate your needs and expectations to your driver/guide. They are there to take care of you in any situation, and are more than willing to adjust the day accordingly, upon immediate request. Do not feel that you have to rush through your tour, take your time. Ask questions and you may logically determine by the middle of your tour the amount of time you should need to return to the starting point. If you are taken to a shop or school, you may leave at anytime. You are not required to purchase anything. Days offered: 7 days a week Departures:
