Overview

An amazing opportunity to view Alaska's black and brown bears in their native Alaskan habitat.

Enjoy a guided day tour with the opportunity to view Alaska's black and brown bears in their natural habitat. Fly 70 miles southwest of Anchorage to the entrance of Lake Clark Wilderness Preserve for bear viewing from a covered boat.

During this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, you'll travel by van, airplane, and boat en route to the world-famous Redoubt Bay Lodge. Here, you'll have the opportunity to view resident brown bears up-close-and-personal from one of the lodge’s covered pontoon boats. Your naturalist guide will lead you straight to the bears in their natural habitat as you explore the magnificent Redoubt Bay area.

In order to enhance your experience, you'll also receive a Redoubt Bay Field Guide that will provide you with an array of interesting facts about bears, as well as a checklist of flora and fauna that are specific to this fascinating region.

Before returning to Anchorage, you'll have time to relax and enjoy a homemade lunch in the cozy lodge.

- Please dress comfortably and in layers. The weather at Redoubt Bay can be quite different from that of Anchorage. Be prepared for rain--and for taking lots of photos. Please bring only a light day pack with you to Redoubt Bay Lodge.
- In order to safely balance the plane, we will need accurate weights of individuals.
- The price of this tour includes a federal aviation tax.

- This excursion does not run until June 15. The bears follow the salmon, so the best bear viewing is from June through August.
