Discover the dark secrets of Puketi Forest, the ancient kauri rainforest (15,000 hectares) close to the Bay of Islands. With over 360 indigenous species of plants, this subtropical rainforest is one of the most diverse in New Zealand. This intimate guided tour (max 6 people) takes you into the forest at twilight where you experience the transition from day to night. Listen to the bird song as the tuis, the fantails and the kukupa settle for the night, while the nocturnal moreporks and kiwi awaken. Feel the draft of the bats flying overhead and discover the creepy and crawly insects that are active at night.

We love showing visitors through the tranquil natural beauty of the ancient Puketi rain forest, here in the Bay of Islands.

We are Department of Conservation approved guided tours of the Puketi Rain Forest.

Puketi boasts some of the most spectacular scenery that Northland has to offer.

It is a must see, must do experience! We will share with you stories, history, culture and a high standard of educational information to take away.
