Overview
Looking to get out of the tourist zone? This is the tour for you! It's all about authenticity!
We'll take you outside of the tourist zone and into the countryside. Get a taste of the real Mexico, as your guide tells you about the local culture and history of the area.
Enjoy a couple stops for photos from the best viewpoints. We'll proceed into the countryside by driving you to a fruit plantation that provides various produce in this area (mango, papaya, etc).
You'll also meet some local artisans who will give you a demonstration on their crafts in a small tile factory. You will also have the chance to try to make them yourself.
Continue onto the authentic fishing village of Barra De Potosi where you can explore and take pictures of the magnificent scenery. The Barra de Potosi village area is also the home of our famous bird and wildlife sanctuary located on a 4 1/2 mile saltwater Lagoon, which boasts a rich variety of birds and local wild life. Small boats are available for sightseeing and photography.
Here we will conclude our tour by enjoying a delicious Mexican lunch!
- An optional boat trip can be taken through the lagoon for an additional $5 US per person, payable in cash on the day of your tour.
Please note that in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo there is some confusion about ship time vs local time. Please see your purser on your ship to clarify whether your ship changes its time to local time so you do not miss your excursion. As each ship is ruled by its captain, it is your responsibility to confirm this while while you are sailing.
