Overview

Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park has come a long way since the land was first purchased in 1929. While there were many developments, there was always one vision for the land, that was to create a wildlife park with a strong focus on conservation.

Today the Park is an award winning tourist attraction with great features including kiwi, trout, tuatara, pigs, sheep, native birds and trees and New Zealand's only 'open to view' kiwi hatchery and rearing facility.

Our Responsible Tourism Policy: To showcase the clean green image of New Zealand while advocating and educating visitors about conservation and our unique natural heritage.

The Park offers natural and man-made shelter throughout. Our walkthrough aviaries, trout and reptile viewpoints are all under cover, and the Kiwi Burrow experience and National Kiwi Hatchery Tours are fully indoors. Playscapes and water activities are scattered throughout the lush forest, providing shelter on hot days.

Our on-site café offers indoor seating options as well as some sheltered outdoor tables during the summer months.
