Calling all nature lovers, tree huggers, botanists and wannabes!
Would you ever venture off on your own into the rainforest for a hike? No way! But accompanied by our expert nature guides, you'll be safe and learn a lot about the flora and fauna unique to Tobago... plus have tons of fun!
We'll drive out to the Tobago Forest Reserve (Main Ridge Reserve) that's said to be the oldest protected forest in the entire Western world.
Next, we’ll continue on foot into the heart of the forest on one of the many trails. You'll be amazed at all the flora and fauna still wild and untouched. In fact, Tobago is home to some 210 bird species, 17 bat species, 16 lizards, 21 snakes, 14 frogs and more! Not to mention countless exotic plant species!
During the checkout process when reserving this excursion, we'll be sure to ask you about your hiking ability. From beginner to advanced, we have the best routes pre-picked for you and your party- whatever your level might be. We have different trails, the shortest 1.5-2 KM and up to 10 KM.
Usually the hike itself is about 2-3 hours.
During the rainy season, the trails in certain areas could get muddy.Included in the price of this tour: drinks on board, breakfast snack (coffee, tea, juice, muffins, fruit).
Please dress in comfortable sportswear, comfortable hiking boots (especially during rainy season), raincoat, mosquito repellent. Tennis shoes are not recommended for this excursion as they do not provide adequate traction.
There is a minimum of 4 passengers needed for this tour to operate. We do combine people from different parties together to meet the minimum. Minimum age is 6 years.
