Schloss Fuschl, A Luxury Collection Resort & SpaExplore > Austria > Salzburg > Schloss Fuschl, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa
OverviewWelcome to the enchanting world of Schloss Fuschl. Situated just one Mozart serenade from the City of Salzburg, this legendary fairy tale chateau is overlooking one of Austria´s grandest lakes within the Salzkammergut region and was built in 1450 as a hunting lodge. Used as the summer residence of the Archbishops of Salzburg, the castle became world-famous, as its romantic situation within the Sound of Music area and the banks of lake Fuschl provided the ideal setting for the "Sissi"-films with Romy Schneider. Associated with aristocrats, empresses and film stars, it has always been recognized as the number one hideaway resort in Austria. There are spectacular restaurants, a luxurious spa and a world-wide unique "Old Master" Painting collection to discover. The fairy tale continues as the hotel´s unique historic atmosphere remains as glorious as ever. Be our guest and enjoy your stay, which will be anything except an everyday experience! Great love of detail and selected elegance characterize the ambiance within all 110 rooms, suites and lake cottages. The world wide unique collection of "Old Master" paintings of the Schloss Fuschl Collection, lends our suites and public areas a singular air of grandeur. Light, warm colors dominate the interior of all elegant Deluxe rooms with park view and Grand Deluxe rooms with lake view. The seven exclusive Tower Suites, which include the famous Sissi-Suite, allow guests to live in authentic Renaissance, Empire, Baroque or Biedermeier style. Our Lake Cottages compose a lovely ensemble along the lake-shore and provide private atmosphere with a terrace, private lake access, Sauna and an open fire-place. Our spacious, yet intimate, Schloss Fuschl SPA is completely dedicated to your relaxation. The very latest equipment and services await you in a truly elegant finde-siècle setting, overlooking the calm side of the lake. The indoor pool, steam bath, sauna and fitness area are first rate. Enjoy the outdoor Jacuzzi – or in summer, an invigorating massage on the jetty. Your privacy is assured, for the mountain nearby is owned by the hotel. So remote does Schloss Fuschl seem, one could almost forget how close it is to Salzburg. The city of Mozart's birth is a mere of 15 km or so from the hotel - you could be there in the time it takes to listen to one of his exquisite serenades. This makes it the ideal place to enjoy the city's famous festival - or in the winter months, to visit the charming Christmas market. The hotel's own fleet of Rolls-Royce vintage cars and historic coaches put the whole of the Salzburger Land within your reach. We have compiled a list of ideas for activities with your guests and friends within the area. Schloss Fuschl has the sole fishing rights on the lake. Lake Fuschl is richly endowed with many fresh water species. Gerhard, the master fisherman, would be delighted to inform you about the fascination of the lake and its underwater wildlife, followed by an authentic fisherman`s snack. With over 130 kilometers of well prepared trails, the Fuschlsee region has an excellent reputation amongst cross-country skiers. Particularly the resort of Faistenau with approximately 60 kilometers of good trails as well as extra services is a must for cross-country enthusiasts. Plentiful parking, changing rooms, showers and toilets, ski hire and service room are available for the ambitious as well as nature loving cross-country skiers. |
