Overview

Ideally located in the heart of Munich, within the city's old town, Mandarin Oriental, Munich represents one of the finest addresses in the Bavarian capital. Surrounded by museums, the State Opera, theatres, and the exclusive Maximilian shopping street, the hotel is only moments away from the city's finest restaurants, boulevard cafés, art galleries and traditional gourmet markets, whilst providing easy access to Munich's major business areas.

Built in 1880, originally as the city's opera house, the Neo-Renaissance building became a hotel in 1990 and rapidly established itself as one of Munich's grandest properties. Recently benefiting from a 7.5 million euro renovation that focused specifically on guest rooms and the exterior façade, Mandarin Oriental, Munich has successfully re-established itself once again, as the leading luxury hotel in the city.

Each of the hotel's 73 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites, has been individually furnished and decorated providing both comfort and elegance whilst offering the latest in technology. This includes in-room high speed internet/wireless LAN connectivity, Bang & Olufsen flat-screen television sets (32 + 50 inch) with over 300 channels and integrated DVD player, CD players and radios, and notebook connection to the television sets. Special services include the services of a personal butler upon request.

Mark's, the hotel's award-winning signature restaurant, showcases Executive Chef Simon Larese modern French cuisine with Asian influences. With an emphasis on fresh seasonal ingredients, superb service and an expansive wine list, Mark's restaurant is the worthy
recipient of a coveted Michelin star. Mark's opens daily for breakfast and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday.

The Mandarin Bar provides the perfect evening rendezvous offering a wide range of cocktails, exotic nibbles and live piano music until one a.m. The bar is also ideal for a casual lunch or dinner, and afternoon tea or coffee served with delicious pastries during the day.

Mandarin Oriental, Munich has the China Moon Roof Terrace on the roof top with a rooftop heated swimming pool, offering breathtaking 360° views over the cityscape and the Alps. China Moon is open daily for lunch and dinner from May to October.

The Rum Club holds a wide range of finest rum.

The wooden chalet at the rooftop is a completely original venue for private entertainment with a cosy Alpine atmosphere and views over the glittering city centre. The wooden chalet is open from November to January.

The hotel's new fitness and wellness center (150 sq m2 - 1650square foot) was opened in January 2012. A state-of-the art cardiovascular and weight training equipment in the gym was erected on the ground floor of the hotel.
