Itinerary
Typical trips depart Seward Harbor at 9:00am, Thursday or Sunday, and return at 5:00pm two days later. (Times are flexible) Train and bus terminals are very close to the harbor and there is ample parking for personal vehicles.
We'll travel well beyond most of the tour and fishing fleet to Aialik Bay and Northwestern Glacier, anchoring in different coves each evening. At anchor we'll grill fresh caught fish, and in the never ending light of an Alaskan summer take the kayaks out for an evening paddle. Each day is filled with wildlife and spectacular vistas as we explore remote regions of this wild area.

Overview
Alaska Fjord Charters promises an Alaska that most will never see - for those with a spirit of adventure and flexibility. Our cruise yacht, the Darby, is outfitted with top of the line kayaks, a 16 ft skiff, and excellent fishing gear. Accommodations include a sheltered aft deck, bridge, pilot house, heated salon that converts to bunking and two heads with hot showers. She is tended by an experienced crew and CG licensed captain and accepts up to six guests.
Alaska Fjord Charters is owned and operated by Bob and MaryLynn Barnwell and their three girls. Bob is a life long Alaskan who teaches in Seward. His family has lived throughout Alaska, including many years in the Aleutians, and the panhandle. Bob and MaryLynn have spent years on the water including living on a sailboat with their children in the Carribean, and commercial fishing throughout Western Alaska. They provide unique personal experiences in South Central Alaska to the discriminating traveler wishing to experience something different from the offerings of conventional tour operators. Our charters let visitors experience the best of Alaskan adventure.
They have over 25 years of experience in Alaska waters, from commercial fishing in the Bering Sea, to guiding throughout the Kenai Peninsula. They know this area intimately, and are here to show you all it has to offer. They also pay attention to the little things that make such a trip memorable, including excellent food!
We specialize in providing the best adventure vacation for people who want personal and tailored travel.
