Overview

McKinley Village Lodge, one of our denali lodges, open May 21 - September 11, 2012, is located seven miles south of the park entrance and nestled along the banks of the Nenana River. Spread over 20 acres, the McKinley Village Lodge offers light hiking and interpretive trails throughout the facility. For the adventurous, there are more rugged trails located near the property entrance. Ideal for families and convenient for travelers with their own vehicle, this Denali Lodge brings you close to the action – yet enjoy the evening solitude as you relax to the sound of the river sweeping by. Rooms are spread out between seven two-story buildings, one of which has an elevator. 2009 marked the completion of guest room renovations – including updated bathrooms and upgraded guest amenities.

The new 15,375 square foot, two-story Summit Lodge opened in June 2009. Constructed with environmentally responsible material, this new facility features a high-timber lodge look and feel, complete with fully functional fireplace and comfortable seating in the lobby area. The Summit Lodge also offers Denali National Park & Preserve interpretive messaging and is home to the Gold Rush Dining Room, Lucky Miss Saloon, Quigley's Coffee Station, Summit Gift Shop and 24-hour concierge desk. The Summit Lodge sits on the banks of the majestic Nenana River with outdoor seating on a deck with an exterior fire pit and breathtaking views of the Alaskan Wilderness.

In an effort to preserve the fragile ecosystem of Denali National Park, the National Park Service has limited access on the park road for private vehicles. To experience the best of the Park, we suggest taking one of our fascinating and awe-inspiring interpretive land tours. The land tours give you the opportunity for full-time wildlife spotting – and also allow you the chance to sit back, relax and listen to your Interpretive Guide share stories about the history, culture and geography that surrounds you.
