Google Reviews

About Google Reviews: recently Google has converted their review system to require reviewers to have a proper, identifiable Google+ profile. This is a good thing, as it tends to cut down on bad reviews, both from people unwilling to stand behind their comments and fake positive reviews from the businesses themselves. Old, pre-Google+ reviews are still in the system, and will appear below as written by "A Google User". More info from Google is here.

Review:   Lovely hotel. Comfortable beds quiet location. Room service available great food. Complimentary shuttle to railway station. Only downside communication between staff needs working on.

Review:   The room was quite dated but clean. A little too warm overnight (we visited at the end of winter). Bed was comfy and had a good sleep. Disappointed about the cold shower in the morning. Breakfast was great. Good selection in the buffet but the manager (?) in the restaurant was frantic so we felt rushed. Desk staff at checkout weren't terribly helpful or friendly. We were advised our bags could be kept at the railway station for free until we left Greymouth. This wasn't the case.

Review:   Great location as a stopover before we moved onto Franz josef. Not much to do in the town. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean.

Review:   Nice, decent place to stay. The hotel is also in the city center with spectacular sunsets.

Review:   Not quite sure what to think of this place. Staff were kind and helpful when we were there but don't understand why as a family of two adults and two yound children we were made to book two double rooms. Everywhere else we have stayed, one room with two double beds was sufficient and when we booked I thought they had given us two rooms because they were singles. So other than having to spend double there and the crumbly asbestos sprayed ceiling with exposed sprinkler pipes, the stay wasn't too bad I suppose.
